The Importance of File Notes

When we conduct business health checks regularly we find that in department computer systems, file noting happens either infrequently or not at all!

All landlord and tenant conversations/actions must be file noted for use later on should there be a dispute or problem that arises. In the case of litigation, file notes are essential to prove what actions and discussions did or didnt happen!

Lee Fitzgerald, Branch Manager with Century 21 Wentworth Real Estate in Perth has a great way to ensure that file noting is done by her property management staff.

The rule Lee has established with her team is 'IF IT'S NOT IN NOTES, YOU DIDN'T DO IT!'.

This has worked well with her staff who all regularly input file notes into their system. Well done Lee!
